Hello everyone! Here I have a few photos I have taken for the Point of View assignment. You can view more of my photos here on Picasa My target of choice was a large piece of cauliflower, some celery, and a plate of carrots. For both pictures I turned my target as I didn't have a better background to shoot against. The first picture here is a shot from the front of the cauliflower. There isn't a whole lot of light on it and the low ISO sensitivity makes it looks even darker. I myself think the shadows add a nice look to the image and the low ISO makes the picture have little grain and have a nice smooth look to it. I very much like this photo considerably more than the next, but the other one is still alright. |

From Digital Photo THOUGH, my favorite pictures were the fun ones I took after taking the first bunch. Here are 2 examples.

The first picture reminds me of how the moon is lit at night- kind of a strange analogy, I suppose. And, the third one's amusing. Looks like the little cow is just popping in to say "Hey!" mid-shot. :)
ReplyDeleteI too love the cow in the giant forest of veggies, definitely my favorite one, but they all came out really nice and look like they came out of a food magazine!

ReplyDeleteI tnink these are great! My favorite veggies and one of my favorite animals! I think the first one strikes me the most because of the way you captured the light on the veggies. Looks like it belongs in a magazine!
Nice job!
Great job Josh! My favorites are the first and third.
ReplyDeleteIn the first one the only thing I think I would have done differently would be to change the angle slightly so that the light faded into the shadow rather than having it be divided by a line, but that's personal preference and the picture is beautiful as is. :D
The third is my real favorite. One is lead down and back by the angle and light of the carrots, then... WahBAM! COW! Made me laugh, yet it is also a very well composed photograph artistically.

I really like the lighting contrast between the first two pictures it gives your veggies a nice shadowing I never knew celery had a dark side ( come to the dark side young Jedi).
ReplyDeleteMy personal favorite was your final picture of the cow-liflower lol.
Haha...cow-liflower...
ReplyDeleteCool photos Josh! Who would've known cauliflower could be so enticing. I agree with Heidi that the first photo makes the veggies look moonlit. Beth- I like your comments about shadowing. I realized in my photos the importance of taking that aspect into consideration and feel like I had an AHA! moment!
I did enjoy your photos! I too like the first picture the dark and light contrast was amazing. Your last two photos were amusing. The cows really added to the assortment.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos Josh! I think my favorite is the 3rd photo. I really like the close-up feature, and the sharp focus on the cow! Very cute. I agree with you about the lighting on the 1st photo too, I believe the shadows make it softer and more appealing.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I love the cow amongst the cauliflower! Very creative!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo's Josh, I like how you did the 180 degree photo change. The colors you have here are very bright as well. Neat perspective.
